Patient Access Coordinator

UNC Health is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Patient Access Coordinator to join our team. As a Patient Access Coordinator, you will play a critical role in ensuring that patient access processing is performed in accordance with procedure and documented in a timely and accurate manner.
Key Responsibilities- Verify key ADT information (insurance verification, patient and guarantor demographics, etc.) is current and accurate to ensure patient safety, charging, coding, insurance processing, and billing accuracy.
- Schedule all new and follow-up patient appointments as required, and attempt to reschedule cancellations whenever possible.
- Communicate cancellations to providers as necessary.
- Complete and document all governmental, regulatory, financial, and contractual forms in accordance with procedure.
- Ensure documents are scanned/saved to the correct location and are legible.
- Utilize price estimation tools as part of the registration process to provide the most accurate estimate to patients.
- Meet departmental targets for up-front collections, including deposits, estimated amounts due, co-pays, and/or prior balances.
- Participate in departmental QA by utilizing system work queues, making a personal effort to reduce individual errors, and making corrections.
- High School Diploma or GED
- Two years of customer service and/or clerical experience
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- A competitive salary range of $18.20 - $25.86 per hour
