We are seeking a skilled LPN - Float - Relief on Call to join our team at Stewart-Marchman-Act Behavioral Healthcare. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality nursing care to clients in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities- Provide Quality Nursing Care: Administer medication injections, perform initial and ongoing health assessments, document results, and take vital signs on clients.
- Emergency Response: Respond to accidents, choking, administer CPR or first aid as needed, and make preliminary diagnoses of illnesses and document all actions.
- Medication Education and Delivery: Provide medication education and delivery to identified clients, ensuring they receive the necessary care and support.
- Care Coordination: Communicate with doctors, psychiatrists, and pharmacists regarding client needs, arrange medical appointments, and advise on unusual laboratory results, medication refills, returns, or other medication changes.
- Client Safety and Well-being: Initiate crisis intervention as required to maintain a safe environment, collect UA samples using Universal Precautions, and record client information in our Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
- Education and Experience: Completion of a program in practical nursing and licensure as a practical nurse; experience working in a clinical psychiatric setting and/or with chemically dependent individuals preferred.
- Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of current principles and practice related to healthcare of clients specific to the LPN's program population, basic principles, methods, practices, and procedures of providing nursing care, and principles, methods, practices, and procedures for administering first aid and CPR.
- Physical Demands: Ability to bend and reach during an 8-12 hour day, lift minimum 10 pounds, and work in a fast-paced environment with varying shifts and locations.
