Division Chief of Neurology Opportunity

The Department of Pediatrics at Duke University School of Medicine is seeking an exceptional physician to serve as Division Chief of Neurology. This is a unique opportunity to lead a team of outstanding faculty members in delivering high-quality care to patients and their families at Duke Children's Neurology Department.

As Division Chief, you will be responsible for developing innovative patient programs, mentoring faculty, and enhancing research and academic programs. The division currently includes eleven faculty, four nurse practitioners, three nurse clinicians, seven pediatric neurology residents, several research associates, neurophysiology fellows, and clerical staff.

The division's academic interests encompass a wide range of neurological conditions, including diseases of the brain, peripheral nervous system, and muscles. Subspecialty areas include Neurodevelopment, Epileptology, Tuberous Sclerosis, Headache, Autoimmune Brain Disease, Neurodegeneration, and Neuro Intensive Care.

As a leader in the field, you will work closely with members of other divisions, including Adult Neurology, Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Medical Genetics, Rheumatology, Hospital Medicine, Critical Care, and Neurosurgery.

The Duke Department of Pediatrics has a long history of excellence in patient care, graduate, and undergraduate medical education, and clinical, laboratory, and health services research.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement innovative patient programs
  • Mentor faculty and enhance research and academic programs
  • Lead a team of faculty members in delivering high-quality care
  • Work closely with members of other divisions

Requirements:

  • Doctorate of Medicine (or equivalent) and board certification in Pediatric Neurology
  • North Carolina medical license
  • Proven leadership and excellence in clinical care, education, research, scholarship, and administrative experience
