Position Overview

We are looking for a skilled and knowledgeable Senior Tax Accountant to become a vital part of our organization. This is a full-time, permanent role that will significantly contribute to the management and execution of our tax strategies and operations. The ideal candidate will hold a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation and possess at least 5 years of relevant experience in the finance sector. A strong grasp of tax legislation and compliance is essential, along with a successful history of managing tax obligations.

Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Tax Accountant, your duties will include:

1. Overseeing all facets of tax reporting, compliance, and strategic planning.
2. Preparing and reviewing federal and state income tax returns and estimates.
3. Assisting with financial audits and collaborating with auditors to ensure compliance.
4. Evaluating tax regulations and legislation to assess their impact on the organization.
5. Working closely with the accounting team to ensure accurate financial reporting and timely submissions.
6. Managing tax-related projects from inception to completion.
7. Leading the research and development of tax-saving initiatives.
8. Ensuring adherence to the latest tax procedures and regulations.
9. Analyzing operational and budgetary reporting, providing recommendations for enhancements.
10. Offering leadership, guidance, and mentorship to junior staff members.

Qualifications

To excel in this role, candidates should possess:

1. A valid Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in tax accounting, ideally within the finance sector.
3. In-depth knowledge of federal and state tax codes, regulations, and procedures.
4. Proficiency in tax preparation and planning software.
5. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and tax laws.
6. Capability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines effectively.
7. Excellent leadership qualities to mentor and guide junior staff.
8. Strong communication skills to explain complex tax issues clearly to non-financial colleagues.
9. A commitment to ongoing learning and staying informed about changes in tax regulations.
10. A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred; a master's degree in Taxation or a related field is a plus.
