Psychiatric Technician

We are seeking a skilled Psychiatric Technician to join our team at PrairieCare, a leading provider of mental health services to children, adolescents, and adults. As a Psychiatric Technician, you will play a vital role in the care and support of our patients, working collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality, patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor and assist patients with daily functioning, including mental health symptom management
- Ensure patient safety through the use of metal detectors and safe belongings management/storage
- Contribute to a safe and therapeutic environment by monitoring the milieu and reporting any potential safety risks
- Use therapeutic approaches to manage milieus, reducing the use of restraint and seclusion when possible
- Complete documentation in a timely manner and maintain accurate records
- Plan and facilitate psychoeducational groups with patients as scheduled
- Provide a therapeutic and healing environment, promoting the best patient experience and care
- High school graduate required; Bachelor's degree preferred
- Minimum 1 year experience in mental health, with a focus on pediatric populations
- Excellent customer service skills and ability to communicate effectively in stressful situations
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and make safe judgment calls
- Basic computer skills using Microsoft Office products and EHR
- Knowledge of Joint Commission standards for restraint/seclusion use
