Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Gas Line Utility Locator Technician to join our team at Heath Consultants Incorporated. As a Damage Prevention Specialist, you will play a critical role in detecting and marking underground utilities, ensuring the safety of our communities and the environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Locate underground utilities such as gas lines, electrical cables, and communication lines using advanced electronic detection equipment.
  • Operate specialized tools and equipment to identify and mark underground utilities, ensuring accurate and efficient results.
  • Conduct site inspections and assessments to identify potential hazards or issues, maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Prioritize work by reviewing locate requests to determine routing, ensuring timely and effective completion of tasks.
  • Drive to sites in response to routine ticket requests and emergencies, relocating as needed to address urgent situations promptly.
  • Utilize provided mapping tools, location information, and specialized equipment to effectively locate underground utilities.
Requirements
  • Possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Pass pre-employment background and drug screening, with random testing throughout employment.
  • Have a High School Diploma or GED.
  • Be reliable and punctual for scheduled assignments.
  • Be able to lift up to 25lbs.
  • Ability to learn to utilize utility maps, records, and other resources to locate underground utility lines accurately.
  • Ability to walk, bend, kneel, and stand outdoors for long periods of time in various terrain and conditions.
  • Technical aptitude and familiarity with technology.
  • Able to demonstrate the ability to follow directions, produce quality work, and maintain safe working habits and conditions.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with team members, customers, and clients.
