Job Overview

We are seeking an Industrial Mechanic Assistant to join our team. This role will involve providing mechanical support in response to operational changes resulting from equipment malfunction, breakdown, relocation, replacement, or other modifications. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining equipment using provided tools and equipment, following all work safety policies and guidelines, observing equipment operation, and fixing and troubleshooting any malfunctions or safety issues.

About the Position:
This Industrial Mechanic Assistant will be responsible for assisting mechanic operators on troublesome issues, alleviating downtime, and utilizing lockout/tagout (LOTO) as required when bypassing guards or servicing equipment. Additionally, the individual will set up/tear down assigned pieces of equipment on a daily basis with minimal wait time and perform emergency equipment repairs either alone or with assistance from other mechanics or team coordinators.

Key Responsibilities:
* Assist mechanic operators on troublesome issues to alleviate downtime
* Utilize LOTO as required when bypassing guards or servicing a piece of equipment
* Set up/tear down assigned pieces of equipment on a daily basis with minimal wait time
* Perform emergency equipment repairs either alone or with assistance from other mechanics or team coordinators

Requirements:
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
* Ability to communicate effectively and follow verbal and written instructions
* Follow diagrams, operation manuals, and manufacturing instructions
* Must be able to troubleshoot malfunctions in a timely manner and find resolution
* Must be willing and able to perform physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation
* Must be at least 18 years of age and legally authorized to work in the United States
* Must pass a background check, drug screen
* Must be able to read and write
* Need to be familiar with SPC, HACCP, GMPS SSOPS, and USDA
* Computer skills with Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
* Product knowledge and process knowledge

Physical Requirements:
* Constant standing and walking (8 hours or more per day)
* Lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling (up to and including 50lbs or more)
