Job Overview

Position Summary:

The General Maintenance Specialist is essential for maintaining the operational efficiency and aesthetic appeal of our facilities. This role encompasses a variety of maintenance responsibilities, including minor construction, electrical repairs, plumbing services, and addressing issues as they occur. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of managing time effectively while responding to maintenance requests in a timely manner. Additionally, this position may involve assisting with maintenance tasks at other J.C. Lewis properties beyond the primary location.

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday (occasional weekends may be necessary)

Compensation: Based on experience, negotiable for the right candidate.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure the facility remains functional and visually appealing.
  • Execute minor construction projects, including repairs and installations.
  • Conduct electrical maintenance, such as fixing lighting systems, outlets, and switches.
  • Resolve plumbing issues, including leaks, clogs, and fixture repairs.
  • Utilize analytical skills to troubleshoot maintenance problems and develop effective solutions.
  • Keep accurate records of maintenance activities and inspections of equipment.
  • Follow safety protocols and regulations while carrying out maintenance duties.
  • Work collaboratively with team members and supervisors to prioritize and complete maintenance projects efficiently.

Qualifications:

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience in general maintenance, minor construction, electrical work, and plumbing.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Capability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.

Physical Requirements:

The physical demands for this position include:

  • Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Stamina to stand, walk, bend, and kneel for extended periods.
  • Manual dexterity for operating tools and equipment.
  • Capability to work in varying weather conditions, including extreme temperatures.
