Enterprise Cybersecurity Specialist

U.S. Marine Corps is seeking an experienced Enterprise Cybersecurity Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in information technology and cybersecurity, with expertise in risk management processes, secure configuration management techniques, and government laws and policies.
Job SummaryThis role involves providing guidance and direction to Information System Security Managers at the installation and project/program level to ensure the effective implementation of system security controls. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting comprehensive assessments of management, operational, and technical security controls, as well as identifying systemic security issues based on vulnerability and configuration data.
Duties and Responsibilities- Provide guidance and direction to Information System Security Managers
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of management, operational, and technical security controls
- Identify systemic security issues based on vulnerability and configuration data
- Analyze traffic to identify network devices and conduct application vulnerability assessments
- Assess security systems designs and interpret vulnerability scanner results to identify vulnerabilities
- Prepare Test & Evaluation reports and run Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP) content and Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGS) based tools for benchmark, compliance checks, and security configuration reviews
The successful candidate will require:
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or Business related field
- Seven years of experience performing specific tasks for Information System Security Manager (ISSM), security assessments, vulnerability management, or cybersecurity (CY)
- Knowledge of risk management processes, secure configuration management techniques, Government laws and policies, cyber threats and vulnerabilities, encryption algorithms, host/network access control mechanisms, vulnerability information dissemination sources, Payment Card Industry (PCI) data security standards, Personally Identifiable Information (PII) data security standards, incident response and handling methodologies, intrusion detection methodologies and techniques for detecting host and network-based intrusions
- Skill in applying security controls, analyzing traffic to identify network devices, conducting application vulnerability assessments, assessing security systems designs, interpreting vulnerability scanner results to identify vulnerabilities, preparing Test & Evaluation reports, and running SCAP content and STIGS based tools for benchmark, compliance checks, and security configuration reviews
The U.S. Marine Corps offers a competitive salary package, including a base salary of $115,000 per annum, plus benefits such as health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
