AWS Finance is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join our team. This role will partner with senior business partners and finance professionals to drive thoughtful analysis and controllership on AWS's products.

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience in tax, finance, or a related analytical field, as well as a Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field. They will also have experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools, such as SQL, MS Access, Essbase, and Cognos, as well as other financial systems, including Oracle, SAP, Lawson, and JD Edwards.

The Senior Financial Analyst will be responsible for influencing business partner decisions through education and collaboration on marginal costs, pricing, customer adoption, and other key financial performance indicators. They will also collaborate with business partners to build and maintain detailed cost models by product/service, drive the financial planning/budgeting activities, and prepare and provide financial reporting, including communicating future financial risks and opportunities to the business.

The successful candidate will have a strong financial modeling background, problem-solving skills, a keen attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with ambiguous situations. They will also have solid skills in project management and regular interaction with various business units across Amazon.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of tax, finance, or a related analytical field experience
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field
  • Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools and other financial systems

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience
  • MBA or CPA
  • 3+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience
  • 3+ years of identifying, leading, and executing opportunities to improve, automate, standardize, or simplify finance or business tools and processes experience
  • Experience with advanced use of SQL for data mining and business intelligence

The base pay for this position ranges from $60,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $128,800/year in our highest geographic market.
