Job Description

Amazon's North American Customer Fulfillment (NACF) Finance team is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to serve as a trusted finance partner for operational and functional leaders. This role offers a unique opportunity to be part of a dynamic team committed to operational and financial excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Planning and Analysis
    • Develop and maintain financial models and analyses to inform business decisions.
    • Manage the development of weekly and monthly financial reviews, forecasting, and reporting models.
    • Identify and solve complex data integrity issues and collaborate with stakeholders on resolution.
  • Business Analysis
    • Identify and implement opportunities to resolve finance issues, improve, scale, or simplify finance tools, technology, and processes.
    • Understand how data flows through our financial platforms and establish a source of truth.
    • Simplify and centralize process improvement and reporting to enable business partners and customers to take action quickly.
  • People
    • Seek, value, and leverage diverse perspectives.
    • Challenge business partner plans and assumptions when needed.
    • Communicate data in a clear, concise, and unambiguous manner both verbally and in writing.
A Day in the Life

The AR Controllership team is a newly formed team that will collaborate with multiple teams and organizations within Amazon. This role gives you a chance to help build a newly formed team and establish standards within fulfillment centers. A typical day in this role includes solving complex problems affecting company-wide strategic decision-making, leading through ambiguity, identifying high-priority work/projects to maximize results for key stakeholders, designing and implementing new financial reporting/modeling, and finding creative solutions utilizing large-scale data mining tools.

Basic Qualifications
  • 3+ years of tax, finance, or a related analytical field experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience.
  • Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (e.g., SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards).

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $60,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $128,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
