Position Overview

The Kelly Group is currently in search of a skilled Fitter/Welder to join our team. This role involves working with piping systems in various industrial settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Installation of Piping Systems: Measure, cut, bend, shape, thread, solder, and glue using hand tools and equipment.
  • Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret blueprints, process flow diagrams, sketches, and product specifications.
  • Materials Management: Generate materials lists by selecting appropriate types and sizes of pipes, supports, and related materials based on job specifications.
  • Welding Certification: Successfully complete a bend test on a 2-inch schedule 160 carbon steel pipe in a 6G position using gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW, TIG, Heliarc) for root and hot pass, and shielded metal arc welding (SMAW, stick) for fill and cap.
  • Safety Practices: Adhere to safe work practices at all times.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Completion of OSHA 10-hour training or equivalent.
  • Experience in industrial construction.
  • Familiarity with AWS, ASME, and other welding codes and practices.
  • Willingness to travel and stay out of town for extended periods.
