The Enterprise Systems Operations Manager will oversee the execution, functionality, reliability, maintenance, and recovery strategies of the organization's financial processing systems, including core banking and supporting applications, collectively known as the 'core'.

This position will lead a team of application support specialists to guarantee the stability, scalability, and security of both on-premises and cloud-based applications.

Key responsibilities encompass aiding in strategic planning, managing vendor relationships, and continually optimizing both on-premises and cloud applications in alignment with business goals.

The manager is expected to remain informed about emerging technologies and industry best practices to foster innovation and efficiency within the organization.

Essential skills include strong leadership, project management, and communication abilities to effectively collaborate with various stakeholders and ensure the successful delivery of application services.


DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assess new applications, system software, products, and enhancements to existing applications, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and business unit requirements.
  • Supervise the design, deployment, and upkeep of on-premises and cloud-based enterprise applications and their upgrades to guarantee high availability and performance.
  • Work alongside business and systems analyst teams to devise technical solutions for applications and their environments that satisfy business and technical specifications throughout all lifecycle phases.
  • Lead a team of IT application support professionals, providing mentorship, guidance, and performance assessments.
  • Monitor and sustain the availability, performance, security, and cost-effectiveness of application environments.
  • Conduct regular evaluations and audits to ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory mandates, and internal policies and procedures.
  • Manage vendor partnerships, negotiate contracts, and assess new technologies for potential integration.
  • Ensure effective incident management and problem resolution for various application issues within service level agreements.
  • Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends, integrating relevant advancements into the organization's application strategies.
  • Maintain thorough documentation for supported application environments, including configurations, processes, and procedures.
  • Develop and oversee the budget for application services, ensuring cost-effective solutions and resource allocation.
  • Provide training and development opportunities for the application support team to enhance their expertise in core banking and related applications.
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with the organization's application environments, including disaster recovery and cloud application services. Formulate and maintain strategies for on-premises and cloud application environments and their disaster recovery in collaboration with other technology sectors and business stakeholders. Ensure business continuity for the organization's financial processing systems and related application services.

QUALIFICATIONS

To be considered for this position, candidates must possess the following skills:

  • 7-9 years of experience in Information Technology, including managing, designing, and deploying medium to large-scale on-premises and cloud applications, particularly core banking applications; with 1-3 years in a management role.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing application environments with a solid understanding of both on-premises and cloud settings.
  • Extensive knowledge of core banking platforms such as Fiserv DNA and cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, including Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) offerings.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies, databases, and n-tier application network architecture, including high availability and load balancing.
  • Strong technical leadership and team management skills, preferably within the financial sector or credit union, with experience in leading and mentoring IT professionals.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical capabilities, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical challenges.
  • Strong IT service management and project management skills, with the capacity to plan, execute, and oversee IT projects and changes within defined scope, budget, and timeline.
  • Familiarity with software development lifecycle, IT service management, IT operations, and security best practices and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with various stakeholders and convey technical information to non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to function in a standard office environment and utilize common office equipment.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs.
  • Occasional travel may be required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Additional qualities that would enhance a candidate's suitability for this position include:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with the Fiserv DNA core application stack and related technologies.
