About the Role

Cleveland Clinic's Lorain Family Health & Surgery Center is seeking a skilled Nightingale Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) Operating Room (OR) team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical nursing care in the Ambulatory Surgery Center
  • Oversee the clinical practice of nursing in the ASC, including assessing patient care needs and planning the delivery of care
  • Perform circulating functions, such as monitoring, recording, and communicating patient condition, and managing the overall nursing care of patients before, during, and after a procedure
  • Prepare ORs, surgical instruments, and equipment for use
  • Perform scrub functions, such as the selection and handling of instruments and supplies used during the procedure
  • Note and carry out physician and nursing orders
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments
  • Provide health education to patients and families
  • Process patients through the ASC
Requirements
  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Three years of experience in the ASC OR RN position at Cleveland Clinic immediately prior to retirement
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or willingness to obtain upon rehire
  • Pediatrics: completion of Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) upon rehire
