Job Summary
The Licensed Vocational Nurse at French Hospital Medical Center plays a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care. As a member of our collaborative care team, you will work closely with registered nurses and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to our patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough physical assessments and document findings in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
- Recognize and report any deviations from normal anatomy and physiology to registered nurses or physicians.
- Participate in unit competency assessments, annual safety reviews, and continuing education programs to maintain licensure and stay up-to-date with industry developments.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement effective patient care plans.
- Delegate patient care tasks and duties to non-licensed team members as needed.
Qualifications
- Acute care experience within the last two years is preferred, but new graduates and licensed vocational nurses without recent acute care experience may be considered on an individual basis.
- Licensure as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) in the state of California is required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is also required.
- Electronic Information Vault (EIV) certification within six months of hire is required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Proficient basic nursing skills and specialty skills.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with patients, visitors, and healthcare team members.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
