The Residential Generator Technician Trainee is essential in aiding the upkeep and installation of home backup generators. This role requires collaboration with the Residential Generator Technician on various aspects of generator upkeep, diagnostics, and installation. The perfect candidate will possess fundamental technical abilities, a strong dedication to work, and a focus on ensuring the dependable functionality of backup generators in residential environments.

Compensation: $23.00 per hour

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support in Maintenance:
    • Assist with regular tasks such as oil changes, filter swaps, and inspections.
    • Clean and maintain generator parts for peak performance.
    • Document maintenance activities and keep service records updated.
  • Troubleshooting Assistance:
    • Help identify and resolve generator problems.
    • Learn to utilize diagnostic equipment to pinpoint issues.
  • Installation Support:
    • Aid in the installation of home backup generators following specifications and building regulations.
    • Assist with electrical and mechanical connections as instructed.
  • Inventory Oversight:
    • Organize and maintain spare parts and tools inventory.
    • Help in procuring replacement parts as necessary.
  • Compliance with Safety Standards:
    • Follow safety protocols consistently.
    • Engage in mandatory safety training sessions.
  • Client Interaction:
    • Engage with homeowners in a professional manner.
