Key Responsibilities
  • Review, interpret, and accurately fill prescriptions, ensuring the correct type and dosage of medication is prepared and dispensed.
  • Consult with physicians regarding potential issues related to drug dosages, allergies, or contraindications.
  • Provide technical and clinical information to healthcare professionals and the community regarding medication use.
  • Maintain comprehensive patient profiles, documenting prescription data, allergies, and diagnoses.
  • Prepare and oversee the preparation of IV medications, ensuring accuracy in drug dosage and administration schedules.
  • Supervise the work of pharmacy technicians, ensuring compliance with standards in medication preparation.
  • Monitor and manage stock medications for nursing units, ensuring all drugs are current and adequately supplied.
  • Conduct pharmacokinetic evaluations and monitor patient responses to specific medications.
  • Stay updated on advancements in the pharmacy field and fulfill continuing education requirements.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements for record-keeping.
  • Assist with the general operations of the pharmacy department, including medication orders and inventory management.

Work Environment
This position requires considerable standing or walking, with the potential for lifting light-weight objects. The role may involve high levels of mental concentration and attention to detail, particularly when operating computer systems.

Shift Details
This is a part-time position with variable shifts, requiring approximately 10 hours per week.
