About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team in Denver, Colorado or Salt Lake City, Utah. As a key member of our mining projects team, you will provide project leadership in instrumentation and controls, electrical engineering, and design.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing project leadership in instrumentation and controls, electrical engineering, and design
  • Serving as lead electrical engineer or discipline lead on mid- to large-size projects
  • Coordinating and directing staff on designs, specifications, drawings, figures, reports, and calculations
  • Working with existing and potential clients to provide instrumentation and controls, electrical engineering, and design solutions
  • Developing project proposals and working with mining business leaders to support and grow the Mining practice
  • Providing direction and mentoring to technical staff in completing project tasks
  • Providing specialized technical input to studies and design efforts
  • Presenting complex technical solutions to clients
  • Performing independent technical reviews of engineering reports and design and signing off on work
  • Planning, scheduling, conducting, or coordinating detailed phases of the engineering project
  • Providing advice and consultation to clients on engineering matters, including compliance with government laws and regulations
  • Providing estimates for the engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements on medium to large-sized projects
Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering + 8 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education in instrumentation and controls, electrical engineering, and design on industrial and/or mine sites
  • Valid U.S. Driver's License
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PE in Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, Arizona, or ability to acquire a PE
  • On-site field experience in commissioning and start-ups for facilities
  • Master's in electrical engineering or related field of study
  • 10+ years or more of relevant experience
  • MSHA Miner training
  • Demonstrated progressive experience in electrical engineering, design, modeling, and construction documentation
  • Progressive project experience including task leadership and project management roles on design and design-build projects
  • Ability to serve as primary point of contact with the client and develop client relationships
  • Lead designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, construction specifications, and final working drawings
  • Work with CAD designers to produce construction-level drawings
  • Strong written and oral communication, quantitative, and people skills
  • Strong work ethic and professional demeanor
  • Initiative-taking on assignments and demonstrate initiative
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, and complete multiple technical tasks under tight deadlines
  • Estimate and scope electrical engineering projects
  • Perform work in accordance with agreed-upon scope, budget, and schedule
  • Track and manage task budgets and schedules
  • Author reports and prepare/or direct preparation of detailed calculation packages including proper documentation and references
  • Must be resourceful, highly organized, professional with attention to detail and people
