SUMMARY

The General Maintenance Technician plays a crucial role in executing a wide range of maintenance tasks aimed at ensuring the functionality and safety of residential and commercial properties. This position requires a proactive approach to both corrective and preventive maintenance for occupied and vacant units, as well as various equipment.


POSITION TYPE

This is a full-time role, typically encompassing 40 hours of work per week. Overtime may be necessary during peak periods to manage increased workloads, emergencies, or other unforeseen circumstances. Weekend and holiday availability is expected during high-demand times.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

The following outlines the primary responsibilities and expectations for the General Maintenance Technician:

  • Consistent and reliable attendance is essential.
  • Maintain an organized system for scheduling and tracking maintenance requests in accordance with company policies.
  • Perform minor electrical repairs, including the installation and maintenance of switches, fuses, and lighting fixtures.
  • Conduct minor plumbing tasks, such as fixing or replacing faucets, pipes, and appliances.
  • Execute basic carpentry and drywall repairs as needed.
  • Handle the installation and repair of major household appliances, ensuring they operate efficiently.
  • Participate in seasonal snow removal activities, ensuring safe access to properties.
  • Provide timely and courteous service to tenants while addressing maintenance requests.

This role is integral to maintaining the quality and safety of the properties managed by Industrial Trade Services, and the technician must be equipped to handle a variety of tasks effectively.
