Overview: The primary role of the Electrical and Instrumentation Technician is to install, troubleshoot, maintain, and calibrate electrical and instrumentation systems within the facility, ensuring operations are conducted safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities: To excel in this position, the individual must effectively carry out the following duties:

  • Monitor and uphold the operational integrity of facility equipment to guarantee safe and efficient functioning.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance, repairs, and calibration of electrical systems in compliance with relevant regulations and company policies.
  • Utilize and interpret technical documentation, including P&ID diagrams and control logic.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues in PLC/DCS control systems with minimal supervision.
  • Possess a comprehensive understanding of steam plant systems relevant to power generation.
  • Complete work orders and maintain accurate records of maintenance activities.
  • Respond to emergency repair needs outside of regular hours.
  • Provide technical support across various company facilities as needed.
  • Proactively identify and implement improvements in maintenance processes.
  • Assume additional responsibilities and assist in training junior technicians as required.
  • Utilize precision measuring tools to perform maintenance tasks accurately.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and report hazards promptly.
  • Engage in ongoing training and development as outlined by corporate programs.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
  • Anticipate and troubleshoot potential equipment issues.
  • Operate various types of industrial equipment safely.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of four years of experience in electrical and instrumentation maintenance within an industrial setting, or two years as a junior technician.
  • Required licenses to meet state and federal regulatory standards.

Work Environment: The role may involve exposure to noise and other environmental factors typical of industrial settings.

Physical Requirements: The position requires the ability to:

  • Stand, sit, and walk for extended periods.
  • Lift up to 50 lbs. and navigate various plant areas.
  • Utilize fine motor skills and handle tools effectively.
  • Access confined spaces and operate safety equipment as necessary.

Personal Protective Equipment: Employees may need to wear appropriate PPE, including respirators, safety shoes, and protective clothing, to ensure safety in potentially hazardous environments.
