Job Summary:

The Good Samaritan Society is seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team in a part-time capacity. As a member of our nursing staff, you will provide high-quality care to our residents, working collaboratively with our interdisciplinary care team to ensure the best possible outcomes.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide professional nursing care to residents of all ages in long-term care settings, under the supervision of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of nursing principles and practices within the full scope of nursing expertise/knowledge and utilize appropriate age and population-specific standards related to the physical and psychosocial needs of residents.
  • Perform testing to evaluate data reflective of the resident's status and provide the care needed to ensure the health, comfort, and safety of residents.
  • Contribute to the assessment of residents and administer medications or treatments as ordered.
  • Provide technical support to healthcare professionals as needed and document resident interactions and outcomes related to resident care, medication, behavior, activity, and dietary.
  • Counsel residents, family members, and/or resident advocates on prevention and treatment plans, under the direction of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician.
  • Develop and implement self-care programs for residents, utilizing knowledge of resident education principles.

Requirements:

  • Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
  • Associate degree in practical nursing is preferred.
  • Currently holds an unencumbered Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license with State Nursing board and/or possess multi-state licensure privileges.
  • Completes required annual continuing education units (CEU) and competency training requirements of the department and facility.
