AvaMed Workforce is seeking a highly skilled Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor to join our team in a Full-Time capacity. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality mental health services to patients in a correctional facility setting.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct initial mental health evaluations, including assessments of patient needs and treatment recommendations.
- Provide crisis intervention services, including consultation and support to patients and staff.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, in collaboration with the interdisciplinary treatment team.
- Conduct clinically sound suicide risk evaluations and provide consultation as needed.
- Meet with patients for crisis intervention, group psychotherapy, and in-person interviews.
- Document all care provided to patients, including in-person contacts and Interdisciplinary Treatment Team meetings.
- Monitor patient progress and apply community standards of practice for non-medical treatment modalities.
- Perform mental status exams and examine patient information from electronic medical records.
- Assist patients in applying for entitlement benefits and community programs.
- Facilitate patient transition between various settings within the institution.
- Perform pre-release functions, including patient education and discharge planning.
- Participate in and/or lead Interdisciplinary Treatment Team meetings and develop individualized patient treatment plans.
- Must be a LICENSED in California by Board of Behavioral Science.
- Must have a strong understanding of mental health principles and practices.
- Must be able to work effectively in a correctional facility setting.
- Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A competitive hourly rate of $50-$53.
- Flexible shifts and hours.
