Agricultural Conservation Specialist

Job Summary:
Agricultural Conservation Specialist is required to provide technical assistance to Berks County's agricultural community, specifically in Best Management Practice (BMP) design and implementation. The successful candidate will have a strong background in agriculture engineering or a related field and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide technical assistance in planning, designing, and constructing engineered best management practices (BMPs)
• Prepare designs of agricultural conservation practices and water quality best management practices (BMPs)
• Conduct inventory and evaluation investigations using engineering principles and new technologies
• Discuss and explain BMP practices with stakeholders and partners

Requirements:
To be considered for this role, candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree or technical training in agriculture engineering, civil engineering, engineering technology, or a related field. An agricultural background or experience is preferred. Additionally, the ideal candidate will be skilled in survey, data collection, topographic map development, CADD, and specification writing. A valid PA driver's license is also required.

Work Environment:
This role involves working indoors and outdoors under various weather conditions. The ability to traverse rough terrain is essential.

Estimated Salary: $65,000 - $90,000 per year
