Position Summary:

The primary responsibility of the Early Childhood STEM Educator is to facilitate STEM programs at local community centers. This role emphasizes the promotion of creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking skills while introducing students to fundamental STEM concepts. Programs cater to children aged 4 to 6 years, with potential for involvement with older age groups.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Guide groups of up to 16 children through structured, curriculum-based activities.
  • Instruct and supervise students in the use of age-appropriate educational materials and tools.
  • Oversee daily tasks assigned to teaching assistants supporting your instruction.
  • Maintain an enjoyable learning environment while managing classroom behavior through established rules and routines.
  • Monitor individual student progress and adapt teaching methods accordingly.
  • Prepare thoroughly for each session by reviewing curriculum materials and participating in training opportunities.
  • Address inquiries from parents regarding the educational programs offered.
  • Encourage enrollment in future Snapology programs for both students and parents.
  • Engage in ongoing training and attend staff meetings as required.

Qualifications:

  • Current criminal and child clearances are mandatory.
  • A minimum of two years of experience working with young children in educational or recreational settings.
  • A degree in education or relevant teaching experience is preferred; candidates pursuing an education degree will also be considered.
  • Ability to foster cooperative and effective working relationships.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential.
