District Mental Health Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated District Mental Health Specialist to join our team at Fayette County Public Schools. As a key member of our Student Support Services department, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive mental health services to students, families, and staff.
Key Responsibilities- Provide individual and group counseling services to students to address social-emotional needs and monitor progress
- Consult with teachers, parents, and other stakeholders to identify student needs and develop prevention and intervention plans
- Collaborate with school staff and community representatives to assess student needs and provide referrals to community resources
- Develop and implement culturally responsive and evidence-based practices to support student social-emotional well-being
- Provide home visits and support services to students and families as needed
- Serve as a resource person on the Special Education Admissions and Release Committee
- Work with other student support professionals to conduct social-emotional screenings and provide support services
- Masters' degree in School Counseling, Social Work, or School Psychology
- Three years of professional clinical experience and licensure preferred
- School Counseling Certification, School Social Work Certification, or School Psychology Certification required
This position requires the ability to communicate effectively, work in a fast-paced environment, and maintain confidentiality. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, and will have excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
