Shop Foreman Job Description

McDonough Hyundai is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Shop Foreman to oversee the daily operations of our service department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring that all work is completed efficiently, accurately, and in compliance with company standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Leadership and Supervision: Manage and supervise a team of service technicians and mechanics, providing guidance and support to ensure the success of the team.
  • Work Order Management: Assign and prioritize work orders, ensuring timely completion of repairs and maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Troubleshooting and Diagnostics: Troubleshoot and diagnose complex automotive issues, utilizing your extensive knowledge of automotive repair and maintenance.
  • Workflow Management: Maintain an organized and efficient workflow within the service department, ensuring that all tasks are completed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Safety and Compliance: Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a clean and orderly work environment, promoting a culture of safety and excellence.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with the Parts department to ensure availability of necessary parts and equipment.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical support and guidance to service technicians as needed, ensuring that they have the necessary tools and resources to complete their tasks.
  • Performance Evaluations: Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to the team, promoting growth and development.
  • Customer Service: Coordinate with other departments to resolve customer concerns and ensure exceptional customer service, maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
Requirements:
  • Experience: Prior experience in a supervisory role within an automotive service department.
  • Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of automotive repair and maintenance, including diagnosing and troubleshooting automotive mechanical and electrical problems.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire the team to achieve excellence.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with customers, technicians, and other departments.
