The Chesapeake Regional Medical Center seeks a skilled Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant to join our Orthopedic team.

Job Summary

This is a dynamic opportunity for a highly motivated and compassionate healthcare professional to provide quality care to patients while under the supervision of a licensed physician.

Key Responsibilities
  • Practice medicine within the scope of license, training, and credentialing
  • Provide patient care in accordance with current standards of care and quality criteria adopted by the Medical Staff Bylaws
  • Evaluate and follow up with patients, complete patient charting and all required paperwork in a timely manner
  • Participate in the development and/or review of office policies and support the Practice Manager in their duties
  • Demonstrate a strong working knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and communicate appropriately with patients
Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Graduation from an accredited Physician's Assisting program with successful completion of the National Certifying Examination administered by the National Commission of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) or graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program with successful completion of the National Certifying Examination
  • Current, unrestricted license to work as a Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant in the Commonwealth of Virginia and/or the State of North Carolina, a current DEA certification without restrictions, and BLS
