Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Fire Service Technician to join our team at Johnson Controls International. As a Fire Service Technician, you will be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing installed fire alarm and security systems, including panel repair and reprogramming, device replacement and repair, and system testing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot and repair complex fire alarm and security systems
  • Perform panel repair and reprogramming, device replacement and repair, and system testing
  • Read and interpret blueprints, submittals, and operational/product manuals
  • Exhibit excellent customer service skills and communicate effectively with customers and district staff
  • Complete Service Acknowledgements and obtain customer signatures upon completed service calls
  • Participate in a scheduled On-call rotation and help train or mentor others on the service team
  • Provide solutions and outcomes at the time of service and perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • 5+ years documented experience in low voltage electrical systems, including Fire/Life Safety systems, Access Control, Nurse Call, and Paging systems
  • NICET ll Level II certification – Strongly Preferred
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and perform physical labor, including carrying and moving equipment and tools up to 50-70 lbs
  • Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions, such as climbing ladders, scaffolding, and high lift equipment up to 40 feet
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, and overnight travel may be required
  • Demonstrate a high level of customer service and maintain truck inventory to ensure timely response to customer needs
  • Ability to adhere to, implement, and follow safety guidelines and procedures at all times
  • Strong organizational skills, positive attitude, and ability to learn quickly
  • Possess a valid driver's license and driving record that meets company requirements
  • Retain any licenses that are required by National, State, and Local codes
