Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive security assessments and evaluations to ensure compliance with established standards.
  • Prepare detailed Security Assessment Reports (SAR) based on findings from security control assessments.
  • Develop and implement Security Controls Assessment Plans tailored to specific evaluations.
  • Collaborate with state agencies to identify cyber risks and formulate effective mitigation strategies.
  • Analyze technical and environmental factors alongside subject matter experts to understand the threat landscape.
  • Provide guidance to clients through presentations and documentation, translating complex security concepts into actionable insights.
  • Engage in vulnerability assessments across various platforms, including networks, databases, and applications.

Required Qualifications

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, capable of engaging with stakeholders at all levels.
  • In-depth knowledge of industry standards and best practices.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in Security Control Assessments.
  • Proven experience in conducting technical security audits for large-scale systems.
  • Experience in presenting security requirements to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • At least 3 years of experience in managing project timelines and deliverables.
  • Proficiency in developing and executing risk management strategies.
  • Familiarity with NIST SP 800 series and security control testing.
  • Ability to articulate IT security risks to executive leadership.
  • Capability to work independently and collaboratively within a diverse team.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CISA are preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience working with government entities.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Knowledge of Minimal Acceptable Risk Standards for Exchanges (MARS-E) Version 2.0.
