Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Housekeeping Specialist to join our team at Eastern Shipbuilding Group. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our offices and work sites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure the cleanliness and organization of all work areas, including offices, hallways, and restrooms.
  • Perform daily cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, and dusting.
  • Restock cleaning supplies and maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Assist with receiving, storing, and distributing materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Operate a forklift and/or hand truck to unload and move materials.
  • Update inventory data into the warehouse database using a computer.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
  • 6-12 months of prior housekeeping experience desired.
  • Knowledge of cleaning and sanitation products, techniques, and methods.
  • Ability to read and comprehend written, verbal, or diagram form.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions.
  • Knowledge of safe operation and use of hand and power tools.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
  • Behavioral attributes: integrity, ethics, flexibility, initiative, interpersonal skills, attention to detail, safety conscious, and multi-tasking.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Florida Driver's License.
Work Environment

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The employee may be exposed to the risk of electrical shock, moving mechanical parts, vibration, fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, continual loud noise, and other hazards found in a heavy industrial shipyard environment. Rigorous compliance with safety procedures, policies, and personal safety equipment requirements is therefore mandatory.
