Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Resident Care Specialist to join our team at SR COMPANIES LLC. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in enhancing the lives of our residents by providing exceptional care and support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise self-administration of medication for residents
  • Assist with ADLs, meal service, light housekeeping, and laundry while encouraging resident independence
  • Speak to/interact with residents at all levels of care constantly, while showing empathy, kindness, compassion, and respect
  • Observe and report to supervisor daily and all changes in the resident's health and emotional well-being
  • Serve and assist residents in the dining room at breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily
  • Responsible for initiating and participating in leisure activities provided to residents as described in the activity calendar
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly environment for all residents at all times
  • Perform daily general housekeeping duties following established cleaning schedules
  • Ensure and support a dignified and caring atmosphere for residents, families, visitors, and associates
  • Always respond promptly and courteously to resident's requests for assistance including phone calls and requests from family members and visitors
  • Communicate effectively in a language that each resident is capable of understanding
  • Ensure residents and/or responsible parties sign residents out when they leave the community
  • Maintain a safe and secure working environment free of objects/situations that could cause harm and/or falls to residents, families, visitors, and associates
  • Practice good body mechanics and safe working habits at all times
  • Observe and report safety hazards immediately to supervisor
  • Provide assistance to associates when requested or required
  • Know, understand, and follow established policies and procedures in emergency situations
  • Responsible for being considered essential personnel during emergencies and/or inclement weather. Is required to report or remain at community until released by supervisor
  • Work as a team player with other associates and management in accomplishing work assignments
  • Demonstrate a positive and respectful attitude about work issues, policies, and procedures at all times
  • Demonstrate a positive and respectful attitude with residents, families, visitors, associates and management at all times
  • Comply with attendance and call off policy
  • Attend and/or participate in trainings, in-service, and mandatory meetings
  • Wear clean and appropriate dress per established dress code policy at all times
  • Refrain from discussing resident care issues with families and visitors and refer all inquiries to immediate supervisor
  • Know, understand, and comply with HIPAA regulations
  • Assist with training of new employees
  • Assist in mentoring new employees
  • Take the initiative in work, seek out additional information, and offer solutions/suggestions, all without asking
  • Take on special projects or assignments outside of regular duties willingly
  • Provide a variety of housekeeping and/or laundry duties in maintaining the community in an orderly, clean, and sanitary condition
  • Perform all other reasonable duties as assigned
