The Engineering Division at AKRF is currently seeking a Senior Infrastructure Project Manager to join our team. This role is pivotal in overseeing the design and management of public roadway and infrastructure initiatives for a variety of clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and/or assist in the management of capital improvement initiatives related to roadway and utility infrastructure.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, and discrete tasks effectively.
- Lead and/or assist in the creation of plans, specifications, and project deliverables.
- Support the preparation of proposals for new project opportunities.
- Provide guidance, delegation, mentoring, and training to junior engineers.
- Facilitate daily communication and coordination with clients and engineering teams.
Essential Qualifications:
- 10-15 years of relevant experience.
- A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
- Preferred: New York State Professional Engineer (PE) license or the ability to obtain it within 6-12 months of employment.
- Experience with New York City Department of Design and Construction (NYCDDC) and New York City Department of Transportation (NYCDOT) is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT), New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC), New York City Department of Environmental Protection (NYCDEP), Port Authority of New York and New Jersey (PANYNJ), and/or Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) is advantageous.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D is strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of Microstation/OpenRoads is a plus.
- Demonstrated progressive responsibility in project and task management.
- Working knowledge of roadway design principles, including alignments, grading, drainage, utility relocation, and traffic management.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines effectively.
- Capacity to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
