Job Summary

Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health is seeking a highly skilled Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our team at Women's Internal Medicine. This is a full-time position that offers a competitive benefits package and opportunities for professional growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare patients for visits by using appropriate rooming standards tools.
  • Administer injections and medications as prescribed by providers, in accordance with federal and state regulations.
  • Assist providers with various procedures, minor surgeries, and exams as designated.
  • Perform Point of Care Testing, including hearing, flu, urine, and strep tests.
  • Remove sutures and change dressings on wounds as necessary.
  • Provide clinical advice by phone/electronic correspondence, in accordance with established triage protocols.
  • Authorize prescription refills as directed by providers.
  • Assist with test tracking and monitoring overdue results.
  • Ensure exam rooms are adequately supplied and cleaned after each patient visit.
  • Participate in performance improvement initiatives to improve patient experience and quality of care.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or general equivalent (GED) required.
  • Medical Assistant Certification from an accredited institution (AAMA, AMT, NHA, NCCT, or NAHTR) required.
  • CPR Certification required: American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support.
  • Valid driver's license required for Regional Positions.
Preferred Qualifications
  • One to two years of Medical Assistant experience in a primary or specialty care physician's office.
Work Environment

This role may necessitate occasional regional travel. For Regional Positions, regular travel to various sites within the region is required.
