Job Description

As an Industrial Operations Director at System One, you will oversee construction engineering activities for industrial projects. Your primary focus will be on Water/Wastewater Treatment plants, as well as factories, production facilities, and data centers across various industries.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Ensure project goals are accomplished within the prescribed time frame and funding parameters.
  • Manage Project Engineers, Superintendents, and Foremen to direct, coordinate, and evaluate the team's performance.
  • Oversee project engineering and personnel functions, including planning, administration, and work assignments.
  • Evaluate compliance with company and contract requirements to support the overall construction schedule (Primavera P6).
  • Provide technical support in construction planning, design interpretation, and conflict resolution.
  • Develop and administer project engineering procedures and work controlling documents (submittals, RFIs, material deliveries, payment requests).
  • Promote the company's presence in A/E, client, and project management meetings.
  • Maintain effective communication with on-site departments to resolve issues and ensure construction quality.
  • Oversee pre-construction services, design-build services, and business development initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the Superintendent to control job costs and production budgets.
  • Prepare and submit monthly cost, income, and cash flow projections.
  • Execute and approve subcontractor requisitions and vendor invoices.
  • Assist in resolving change orders and claims efficiently.
  • Respond quickly to issues, proactively solve problems, and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Maintain accurate records of subcontractor insurance certificate compliance.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent technical training and experience.
  • At least 10 years of experience in construction, design, finance, and management.
  • 5+ years of construction engineering experience in heavy industrial projects.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) registration is preferred but not required.

  • Advanced knowledge of construction engineering technology, codes, and standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to manage a multidisciplinary team.

The salary range for this position is $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
