Job Summary

Altorfer Inc is seeking a skilled Diesel Engine Technician to join our team at our East Peoria, IL location. As a key member of our Power Systems division, you will be responsible for providing technical service support to our customers in a shop environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform troubleshooting and repair of diesel engines in our shop
• Conduct routine maintenance on diesel engines
• Perform engine overhauls and other major repairs as needed
• Order parts for work orders
• Accurately complete timecards and service reports
• Collaborate with our service office to coordinate work
• Assist with repair quotes and other related duties as requested

Requirements

• Minimum 2-year degree from an accredited Diesel Engine Technology Program or equivalent experience in mechanical service work
• Proficiency in PC skills and experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel preferred
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 75 lbs
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record

Working Conditions

• This position requires extensive standing, walking, reaching, climbing, and using hands to feel objects, tools, or controls
• May be required to wear safety equipment, such as safety glasses or side shields, hearing protection, etc.
• Moderate to high noise level in the work environment
• Must be flexible to work varying schedules and hours as needed
