We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Support Specialist to join our team at BioLife Plasma Services. As a Medical Support Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our donors and employees.
Key Responsibilities- Determine donor eligibility to donate plasma, including proper management of informed consent, AIDS education, and confidential self-exclusion.
- Manage donor adverse events, review laboratory test results, and notify donors of unsuitable test results.
- Work under the guidance of the Center Manager and under the management of the Center Physician for operational and medical issues.
- Follow applicable SOPs for medical emergencies, including the development of Center Physician's standing orders and donor transport to emergency care facilities.
- Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs when in need of providing unacceptable findings to donors or guidance concerning medical or technical issues.
- High school diploma or equivalent, including a graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements.
- Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: EMT-Paramedic.
- Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification.
- Fulfill state requirements (in state of licensure) for basic IV therapy.
- Satisfactorily complete the FDA-approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.
- Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.
We offer a competitive hourly wage range of $33.85, as well as a comprehensive benefits program, including medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan, and company match. U.S. based employees may also be eligible for short-term incentives, paid time off, and well-being benefits.
