About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Development Engineer to join our Energy Solutions team at Legence. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the development phase of our energy projects, including site visits, audits, energy calculations, and directing the engineering design team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement performance contracting strategies to meet client needs
  • Lead the development phase of energy projects, including site visits, audits, and energy calculations
  • Direct the engineering design team to produce drawings and specifications
  • Manage the bidding process and develop the final contract with clients
  • Work with construction managers to ensure smooth construction periods for clients
  • Direct the commissioning process and ensure that projects are completed to the highest standards
  • Collaborate with our Measurement and Verification (M&V) team to develop first-year M&V reports
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the energy services industry or a consulting engineering/commissioning firm in the federal market
  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a similar discipline
  • Familiarity with DOE and/or Army Corps of Engineers IDIQ contract requirements
  • Knowledge of building Utility Management and Control Systems (UMCS) and their operation
  • Experience with building simulation and bin spreadsheet modeling of Energy Conservation Measures (ECMs) and calibrating analysis to the utility baseline
  • Familiarity with building energy systems, including HVAC, building automation systems, lighting, building envelope, and domestic water systems
