Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Telecom Lineman to join our team at Midwest CATV. As a Telecom Lineman, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing overhead and underground telecommunication lines and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Telecom Line Installation and Repair: Install and repair telecom lines and cables, including fiber optic, copper, and coaxial lines.
  • Utility Pole Climbing: Climb utility poles to access and string cable.
  • Equipment Operation: Operate bucket trucks and related equipment to run new lines and make repairs.
  • Work Order Planning and Coordination: Plan and coordinate work orders and daily assignments.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with telecom engineers, foremen, and other technicians.
  • Weather and Environmental Conditions: Work outside in all weather and environmental conditions.
  • Safety Protocols: Follow all safety policies, procedures, and regulations.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge: Knowledge of telecom systems and networks, including fiber optics and coaxial.
  • Physical Demands: Comfortable working at heights up to 40 feet, ability to lift/carry up to 70lb ladder, full body mobility - twisting, turning, climbing, and standing for long periods.
  • Tools and Equipment: Basic knowledge of hand tools.
  • Driver's License: Valid driver's license with a clean record.
  • Criminal Background Check: Pass background check.
