Job Description

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Field Installation Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing and configuring access control and security systems, ensuring that all work is completed to the highest standards and meets the required specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret technical drawings and specifications to install access control and security systems.
  • Support installation personnel on project sites and provide information and support to other contractors as required.
  • Assist in troubleshooting efforts during the installation and commissioning of access control and security systems.
  • Provide input to others as requested or required to assist in the accurate estimation, design, and installation of access control and security systems.
  • Document all work, including daily logs and as-built drawings, as required for assigned projects.
  • Inspect work done by other Climatec employees or subcontractors to ensure all work is completed to the required standards.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 3 years of relevant work experience with low voltage installations, including access control, fire alarms, security, and CCTV systems.
  • Understanding of basic computer operations and ability to work with electrical equipment such as volt meters and amp meters.
  • Clear and concise ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Able to bend and install 3⁄4" EMT.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of relevant work experience with low voltage installations, including access control, fire alarms, security, and CCTV systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot basic electric circuitry, including reading and interpreting electrical, control, and special system diagrams.
  • Working understanding of low and high voltage AC circuitry, including transformers, fuses, breakers, multi-phase power, etc.
  • Understanding of the construction industry, including safety protocols and electrical codes.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Be able to lift and carry ladders, drawings, personal computers, material, etc.
  • Be able to spend significant time standing and walking on construction sites.
  • Be able to climb several flights of stairs or ladders throughout a typical day on a construction site.
  • Maintain a satisfactory driving record which allows the individual to drive a company vehicle.
  • Be physically able to kneel, stoop, and crawl.
