Logistics Coordinator

The Logistics Coordinator will be responsible for handling incoming deliveries of raw materials, ingredients, and packaging supplies while ensuring that goods are received, inspected, documented, and properly stored. This role also involves general warehouse duties such as organizing inventory, preparing items for production, and maintaining a clean, safe work environment in compliance with food safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Inspect and verify incoming shipments, checking for accuracy against purchase orders and delivery notes.
Unload and safely transport materials, ingredients, and supplies from trucks using forklifts, pallet jacks, or manual handling as needed.
Examine goods for damage or defects, documenting any discrepancies or issues and communicating with the purchasing department or suppliers for resolution.
Accurately record inventory received into the company's warehouse management system (WMS).
Label and tag received products and organize them in designated warehouse areas.
Monitor inventory levels and report shortages or excess stock to supervisors.
Warehouse Duties:
Pick, pack, and prepare materials for production based on daily manufacturing requirements.
Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, or other equipment to move materials safely around the warehouse.
Assist in the organization and cleanliness of the warehouse, ensuring products are stored according to food safety standards (e.g., FIFO/FEFO).
Conduct regular inventory counts and cycle counts, reporting variances and helping maintain accurate stock levels.
Follow all safety protocols and food safety regulations (e.g., GMP, HACCP) to ensure compliance with company standards.
Assist with loading trucks for outbound deliveries as needed.
Collaborate with other warehouse workers, production teams, and management to ensure smooth operations.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required.
Able to read and write legibly in English.
Previous experience in a warehouse, receiving, or logistics role, preferably in a food manufacturing environment.
Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control software.
Ability to operate material handling equipment, including forklifts (forklift certification preferred but can be obtained on the job).
Basic computer skills (for data entry and inventory tracking).
Understanding of food safety standards and compliance requirements (experience with GMP, HACCP, etc.).
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Physical stamina to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs.), stand, and work in a fast-paced environment for extended periods.
