Description
The Neighborhood at Cullman is seeking a Resident Care Associate to provide quality care and services to residents and their families in our assisted living and Memory care neighborhoods.
Purpose and Responsibilities
The Resident Care Associate is responsible for providing hands-on care, physical and emotional support to residents as outlined in their Personalized Service Plan (PSP). This role includes maintaining a safe, comfortable home-like environment, demonstrating all elements of wellness, and adhering to federal, state, and local standards and regulations.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Participate in the development and updates of Personalized Service Plans, and attend service plan review meetings with families as requested.
- Follow the hydration schedule established for residents during the shift.
- Complete resident meal attendance sheets and provide room service or account for residents who have not dined in the dining room.
- Know and comply with all resident rights.
- Initiate, assign, and assist with activities as appropriate.
- Check assigned residents daily for cleanliness, appropriate clothing, and any continence issues, and change in condition.
- Use proper sanitary procedures and universal precautions.
- Check assigned resident rooms daily for general cleanliness and neatness, and take appropriate action.
- Assist with conducting laundry, common areas, and bathrooms, and check for cleanliness and any exposed hazardous chemicals.
- Complete all Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) for assigned residents according to their Personalized Service Plan (PSP).
- Respond to security system and resident call bells promptly and take appropriate action.
Education, Experience, and Licensure/Certification
- High school education preferred and may be required by the state.
- Previous experience working with elders or disabled individuals preferred.
- Must be at least 18 years of age to perform the personal care aspects of the RCA position.
- Knowledge and experience in Assisted Living industry and Dementia care or Skilled Nursing preferred.
- Ability to work weekends, evenings, and flexible hours, available to customers at peak service delivery days and times.
