Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join our team at IDR, Inc. in Woodstock, GA. As a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, you will be responsible for conducting sonography examinations in accordance with infection control, sterilization, and patient safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare exam rooms and ultrasound equipment for sonography examinations.
  • Assume responsibility for patient safety during examinations.
  • Review patient medical history and supporting clinical information.
  • Ensure sonography examination orders are complete and meet medical necessity standards.
  • Evaluate contraindications, patient preparation, and ability to tolerate examinations.
  • Communicate with patients in a manner suitable to their understanding.
  • Use proper patient positioning tools, devices, and ergonomically correct scanning techniques.
  • Conduct patient clinical assessments and perform diagnostic medical examinations.
  • Apply independent judgment to ensure accurate anatomical, pathological, and clinical conditions are captured in examination images.
  • Refer specific diagnostic, treatment, or prognosis questions to appropriate physicians or healthcare professionals.
  • Acquire additional ultrasound imaging as necessary for optimum diagnostic results.
  • Identify and document examination limitations.
  • Review examination images and synthesize results.
  • Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality in accordance with privacy laws and facility policies.
  • Adhere to accepted professional and ethical standards.
  • Provide preliminary reports of sonography examinations for interpreting physicians.
  • Assist with daily operation of the sonography facility.
  • Perform quality control procedures to ensure ultrasound equipment operates at optimal levels.
  • Exercise responsibility for preventive maintenance of ultrasound equipment.
  • Document incidental findings that might impact patient safety or care.
Qualifications
  • Sonography education, training, and experience in the specialty area(s) to be performed.
  • Demonstrated competence in the specialty area(s) to be performed, including sonographer certification by ARDMS, ARRT, and/or CCI.
  • Demonstrated commitment to professional growth and lifelong learning.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with computer skills and software programs used for documentation activities and report generation.
  • State sonographer licensure, where applicable.
Requirements
  • 1 year of experience as a Sonographer/Ultrasound Technologist.
Relocation

Relocation to Woodstock, GA is required before starting work.
