Position Overview

As an IEC Engineer at Network and Data Solutions Integrators (NDSI), you will be responsible for crafting innovative solutions to intricate challenges. Your role will focus on customizing advanced technologies to meet the specific needs of our clients, ensuring that user experience remains at the forefront of our development efforts.

Impact of the Role

The engineering division seeks a proactive Senior Systems Engineer who can strategically align technology with business objectives. The ideal candidate will possess self-awareness, adaptability, and a strong motivation to excel in project management and cross-technology communication.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with senior engineering and project integration teams to evaluate, document, and monitor both existing and new program requirements.
  • Contribute to the program by creating essential artifacts, architectural documentation, and integrating diverse sources into a unified product, including the preparation of visual and narrative presentations.
  • Assist in the integration and testing of specific hardware/software components within a complex program.
  • Engage with engineers across various contracts to generate architectural artifacts that encompass technical, physical, and logical designs supporting a portfolio of managed services.
  • Oversee service line communication channels to address immediate needs throughout the day.
  • Facilitate comprehensive solutions development by leveraging expertise from multiple contracts and service areas to create and document environments.
  • Manage assigned service tickets and coordinate their resolution as necessary.

Basic Qualifications

  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience as a Systems Engineer in complex, multi-site enterprise environments, complemented by a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science).
  • Proficiency in producing detailed technical documentation.
  • Compliance with 8570 standards.
  • Possession of an active TS/SCI clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated accountability, ownership, and a commitment to continuous improvement through industry certifications and education.
  • Experience in IT project integration, including:
    • Presenting to both internal and external leadership.
    • Managing project control gates and tracking tasks.
    • Collaborating across different service lanes.
    • Creating technical diagrams using Microsoft Visio.
    • Utilizing project tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, KanBan Boards).
  • Adeptness in learning and applying new technologies, with an emphasis on staying updated with emerging tools and trends.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal abilities.

Desired Expertise

In-depth knowledge in one of the following areas, along with a working understanding of others:

  • Networking technologies (Juniper/Cisco).
  • Firewall solutions (Cisco ASA/Palo Alto).
  • Virtualization infrastructures (VMware).
  • Linux systems (Red Hat Enterprise Linux).
  • Enterprise storage systems (EMC, NetApp).
  • Backup technologies.
  • Security audits and compliance procedures.
  • Risk management frameworks.
