Job Summary

InsideHigherEd is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Aquatic Educator to join our team at the UND Hyslop Pool. As a Swim Instructor, you will be responsible for teaching swim lessons to a diverse group of students, ranging from beginners to advanced learners. This is a part-time, non-benefited position, and only UND students are eligible to be hired.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teaching Swim Lessons: Develop and deliver engaging swim lessons to students of various ages and abilities, focusing on water safety, stroke development, and overall aquatic education.
  • Lifeguarding: Provide a safe and secure environment for students by actively monitoring the pool deck and pool area, responding to emergencies, and enforcing pool rules.
Requirements
  • Education: Currently enrolled as a student at the University of North Dakota.
  • Certifications: Possess current certifications in First Aid/CPR and Lifeguarding.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work independently, and a strong commitment to water safety and education.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience: Previous experience as a swim instructor or lifeguard, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Certifications: Additional certifications in areas such as swim lesson planning, water safety, or aquatic education.
