About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Linux Engineer to join our team at ManTech. As a key member of our IT operations team, you will be responsible for providing technical direction and engineering support for projects and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical leadership and engineering support for projects and infrastructure.
  • Develop and maintain expert functional knowledge of evolving IT engineering industry technologies, concepts, and trends.
  • Lead architecture development efforts and assess requirements to present architectural recommendations aligned with the organization's strategic vision.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for architectural frameworks, methods, and tools, and act as a coach to advise and assist business and technical staff with strategy and design disciplines.
  • Support an IT operations environment, including nights and weekends, and may be included in an on-call rotation for after-hours support.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or related scientific or technical discipline, with 7 or more years of related professional experience.
  • Experience in designing and implementing applications in a Red Hat OpenShift environment.
  • Expertise and experience with Red Hat OpenShift, Red Hat Satellite, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7/8, VMware, Windows, Splunk, SolarWinds, Docker, Kubernetes, Git, Jenkins, Terraform, Ansible, and cloud native scripting.
  • Full life cycle experience, responsible for the development of a complete set of architectural views for large number systems in accordance with common architecture frameworks.
  • Knowledgeable of DevOps and CI/CD automation tools, and experience in architecture development utilizing containers among applications and components and application interfaces/interoperability.
  • Assisting application teams with onboarding to the OpenShift Container Platform in areas such as resource requirements, capacity analysis, troubleshooting support.
  • Awareness of IT Security directives and guidance.
  • Up to 10% travel may be required per year.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Broad knowledge of major cloud technologies, including virtualization, containers, networking, and additional knowledge or experience in IT and/or cloud technology architecture, service management, and/or resiliency.
  • Red Hat certification in OpenShift Administration or OpenShift Application Development.
  • Strong team player with solid interpersonal skills.
  • Experience developing design documents, user guides, and training.
  • Experience with business continuity planning, auditing, and risk management.
  • ITIL v3 certification and experience.
  • Experience and familiarity with network protocols, Ansible Automation Platform, Hashicorp Vault, Gitlab, Sonatype Nexus, Redhat coreOS, Redhat Quay, Java/J2EE Development, WebSphere, Web Services, SOA, and Data Architecture.
Clearance Requirements
  • Active DOD Secret clearance and ability to obtain agency suitability clearance.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to remain stationary up to 75% of the time in an office environment.
  • Ability to traverse between work locations to accomplish work duties.
  • Ability to operate IT equipment such as a computer, copier, fax machine, etc.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with management and co-workers to exchange information accurately.
  • Ability to read, review, and effectively respond to electronic and verbal communications.
  • This position supports an IT operations environment, and candidates may need to support work on nights and weekends and may be included in an on-call rotation for after-hours support.
