Full time Job Summary:
This role involves performing essential maintenance, servicing, and repairs on J.B. Hunt tractors and related machinery under general supervision. Technicians are expected to diagnose problems and execute all fleet maintenance protocols, ensuring that all units comply with J.B. Hunt standards consistently.
Work may require outdoor conditions, varying shifts including nights and weekends, and overtime; full-time attendance is necessary.
Job Description:
Key Responsibilities :
Exhibit strong technical skills in preventative maintenance, parts replacement, and complex repairs related to tractor upkeep, including but not limited to the fuel system, battery, engine, drive train, onboard computer, transmission, air brake systems, and FHWA Inspections.
Assist in training and mentoring new Tractor Technician apprentices and participate in Original Equipment Manufacturer training for OE repairs.
Diagnose tractor-related issues; work autonomously while seeking assistance when necessary.
Comprehend and adhere to all safety protocols within the workshop.
Maintain professional communication with J.B. Hunt staff and clients at all times.
Accurately conduct intermediate level repairs to meet company and manufacturer specifications, complete work orders, and demonstrate an understanding of company requirements for standard repair times (SRT) and warranty guidelines.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualification:
Must be at least 18 years old with 1-2 years of experience in Semi-Tractor maintenance and repair or equivalent education and experience; must be willing to work outdoors, in varying conditions, or across multiple shifts including nights and weekends as required.
A/C Certification
DOT certification in FHWA Inspections & Air Brakes.
Basic tools are necessary to effectively perform this role. Employees are generally required to supply their own tools, although a toolbox purchase program is available for those without their own.
Preferred Qualifications :
A High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Effective communication skills (both written and verbal)
Ability to meet physical demands (lift/move items up to 50 lbs)
Capability to manage multiple tasks
Ability to read and comprehend documents in English
Willingness to wear appropriate work attire (protective gear/PPE)
Ability to work independently and collaboratively

Proficient computer skills and comfort with technology
Strong deductive reasoning and organizational skills

Relocation assistance may be available for qualified candidates outside a 50-mile radius of the job location.
Compensation:
Starting pay may vary based on skills, education, experience, geography, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position may also qualify for annual bonuses and incentives based on profitability or volumes, in accordance with the Company's bonus and incentive plans.
