Job Summary:

The Dairy Farmers of America is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Night Bagger Operator to join our team in the production of high-quality cheese powders. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for assisting the dryer operator and bagger operator to ensure the customer receives safe, sealed, and quality cheese powders while meeting DFA's manufacturing specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Follow all DFA Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and work in a manner consistent with all corporate and regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation requirements.
  • Assist and relieve the dryer operator and bagger.
  • Maintain the top of the dryer, including pick-up clamps, gaskets, pipes, etc.
  • Maintain the tower area, including cleaning, sanitizing, and putting away equipment when not in use.
  • Maintain the Ground Floor, including cleaning, sanitizing, and putting away equipment when not in use.
  • Perform shutdowns between products and before wash-ups.
  • Assure proper coding.
  • Verify labels for accuracy.
  • Collect product samples.
  • Manage waste.
  • Monitor equipment for abuse, break-down, etc.
  • Maintain operating records.
  • Assist with washouts and changeovers.
  • Label bags and totes.
  • Ensure quality samples are taken and delivered to the lab.
  • Carry out all quality assurance checks in the bagging room.
  • Perform necessary routine cleaning and preventive maintenance.
  • Wrap pallets and move finished goods to the warehouse.
  • Resupply packaging materials.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to work a full 12-hour shift.
  • Physical ability to handle the duties assigned, including cleaning.
  • Ability to learn the theory of operating and cleaning procedures and practices involved in the operation and equipment of the position, including any new operations and equipment assigned by management.
  • Ability to perform work in a safe and sanitary manner.
  • Ability to work proficiently, neatly, and accurately at the speeds required.
  • Ability to perform the job duties resulting in a high-quality product.
  • Ability to perform necessary routine cleaning and preventive maintenance.
  • Ability to work independently as required.
  • Ability to learn and perform various functions of the department to perform the essential functions.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English.
