Night Evaporator/Milk Receiver Relief Operator

General Purpose:Monitor the intake receiving area and assure proper flow of incoming milk and other products.  Load out cream and perform all quality tests.  Test milk for contamination, quality, and antibiotics. Perform scheduled cleaning activities. Direct truck drivers on parking and checks for security of milk & milk products.  Provide operation and maintenance support to the Evaporator department within the plant.  Perform tasks in a safe manner and follow safety and environmental regulations.  Work within standard operating procedures, under a moderate degree of supervision. This position will also provide relief coverage for both departments.  Job Duties and Responsibilities:Operate the Reverse Osmosis system, Evaporator & Cooling towers, and all of its processesOperate the Loading/unloading equipment, silos, scale, printer Maintain Receiving bays, Load out bays, Intake, Silo Corridors, Evaporator, Evap area and ground floor. Keep clean and sanitary, picking up and putting away clamps, gaskets and pipes when not in useInteract with drivers, field reps, regulatory agencies, and DFA personnelRecord truck weights, time of arrival and departureDirect trucks to appropriate unloading baysLoad/Unload and monitor milk loads, Condensed Skim Milk, Sweet Cream, WPC & Condensed WheyConduct laboratory testing of milk for qualityConduct antibiotics testing on milk, attain Certification with the MDA Appendix N to become a registered analyst for milk receivingAssure accurate accounting of incoming/outgoing products within SAP and logsPerform necessary routine cleaning, CIP’s and preventive maintenanceComplete wash up in a timely fashion and operate CIP equipmentRecord tanker seal numbers, wash tags, & lot numbers Ensure product is sampled, tested & meets specifications prior to loading/unloadingPrevent spills, report spills immediatelyMaintain operating records for relevant equipment per Standard Operating ProceduresMonitor all equipment in the areas to ensure quality & reliabilityReport all equipment malfunctions and abnormalities to Supervisors, Management, and or MaintenanceControl and monitor HTST pasteurizer, including the documentation of production and non-production activities in accordance with customer, state, and USDA requirementsAssist with CIP validations, inventory counting and Sanitation Standard Operating ProceduresComplete, maintain, and review of daily and weekly area sanitation and other reportsStay current on operation of all equipment in Intake and Evap departmentsFlexibility to vary work schedule dependent upon production and staffing needsMaintain safe working conditions for employees and compliance with all state and federal regulations regarding health and safety issuesThis position will handle a large variety of chemicals throughout the facility, be familiar with 3EDedicate effort to safety as we expect every employee to leave work in the same condition as they arriveMaintain a clean organized and professional work area at all times in accordance to 5S methodology, which is to create a clean orderly environment where there is a place for everything, and everything is in its placeFollow all DFA good manufacturing practices (GMP) and work in a manner consistent with all corporate regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation requirementsExhibit the values and ethics of Dairy Farmers of America through honesty, discretion, and sound judgmentAdhere to all DFA Quality, Safety and GMP policies and procedures and report any nonconformityAttend required training, including but not limited to, Safety, GMP, Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP), and Safe Quality Foods (SQF)The requirements herein are intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by employee, but is not a complete list of responsibilities, duties, and skills required. Other duties may be assigned as required
