Job Summary

We are seeking a seasoned Policy Advocacy Manager to focus on consumer protection and data privacy issues in the Washington D.C. area.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement legislative strategies to advance public policy related to consumer protection and data privacy.
  • Analyze proposed legislation and regulations impacting the company's interests and advocate for policy alignment with business priorities.
  • Provide expert guidance to GA team members on public policy matters and collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to understand regulatory implications.
  • Contribute to the development of the organization's legislative agenda based on a deep understanding of the company's business objectives.
  • Monitor and inform management of pending legislative issues affecting the company.
  • Work with contract lobbyists and manage relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Cultivate effective working relationships within the matrixed organization and with external partners.
  • Present the company as an authority on data privacy and consumer protection matters to Congress, federal agencies, and state legislatures.
Requirements
  • Juris Doctor degree preferred.
  • At least 7 years of experience in public policy, particularly in consumer protection and data privacy areas.
  • Capitol Hill or federal agency experience is advantageous; relevant state-level or trade association experience will be considered.
  • Strong skills in developing and advancing legislative initiatives and strategic planning.
  • Excellent collaboration, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • A self-motivated individual with initiative.
  • The ability to distill complex legislative issues and their implications for management.
  • A seasoned professional capable of resolving intricate problems creatively and effectively.
  • Strategic thinking and consultant management experience.
  • Ability to leverage association memberships effectively.
  • Superior written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience in delivering compelling presentations.
Compensation

The estimated salary range for this position is $120,000 - $160,000 annually, commensurate with experience, plus benefits.

Travel Requirements: Up to 25% of the time may involve travel.
