Position Overview

The Security Operations Leader collaborates closely with the Security Administration Manager and provides support to the Director of Security by overseeing all daily security-related operational needs. This includes the development of Security Ambassadors, management of patrol operations, incident response, and emergency preparedness for various properties under Metro National Corporation. The role is essential in fostering a safe environment for employees, tenants, and visitors while ensuring that security policies and procedures are effectively established, updated, and implemented.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the overall security strategy and operations, which includes training and developing security personnel, enforcing security policies, and executing physical security measures.
  • Ensure accurate data entry and management within the Security Incident Management System, providing follow-up training for security staff as needed.
  • Assist in the administration of personnel policies related to hiring, daily supervision, performance evaluation, disciplinary actions, payroll, and conflict resolution.
  • Support the Director of Security and the Director of Training & Compliance in developing training programs, enforcing policies, and ensuring quality improvement and assurance standards.
  • Create detailed reports for the Director of Security regarding inventory management, service standards, and guest experiences.
  • Maintain all company-issued equipment in optimal condition, including patrol vehicles, bicycles, uniforms, and more, while keeping comprehensive service and inventory records.
  • Conduct inspections and evaluations of subordinate activities, equipment, and property conditions, maintaining all necessary records.
  • Oversee the daily operations of Security Supervisors, Bike Patrol, and Security Ambassadors.
  • Act as the highest-ranking security official in the absence of the Security Director, making initial decisions as necessary.
  • Respond to critical incidents that may escalate to physical or life-threatening situations, assisting on-site personnel to ensure adherence to service standards and guidelines.
  • Ensure that all team members meet the Metro National Brand Service standards.
  • Participate in regular in-service training and situational briefings.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma is required; a Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Previous experience in retail environments is advantageous.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a Security Supervisor role.
  • Familiarity with commercial building practices and systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Demonstrated administrative, management, and leadership capabilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and assignments effectively while maintaining composure during emergencies.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret technical procedures and regulations.
  • Proficient in writing reports and business correspondence.
  • Awareness of asset protection policies and procedures.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and presentation skills.
  • Effective communication skills for supervising, training, and directing security operations teams.
  • Knowledge of risk assessment methods and security audits.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and initiative.
  • Proficient in computer software and Microsoft Office applications.
